Lift animation 2

I have just improved my animatic, so it should make more sense now. Hopefully it is more clear that he taught he was done wit work. And also the staging looks better. So I can now block it out in Maya. Jippey, 3d-programs...

Lift animation 1

Today I started on a new animation. It's going to be a lift. My character thinks he is done for the day, notice a box and get to work again. This is my animatic. And tomorow I will start to transfer it in to 3d.

A litle of what Im doing right now

Just look how much fun 3D must be!..."It ain't easy!"

I have been wrestling with this cow Dasiy the last three days. She is a nice model to work with, but she still have three legs more than I can keep in mind right now. She is supposed to walk or trot.
First we have to figure out what a cow standard trot is. Then study non standard cows in video refrences, wich is fun to watch. And finaly combine these two with a cartoony 3D model. And in the end it should result in a cartoony cow doing a standardized anonymous trot that looks just natural. They go against each other a bit so it is a bit confusing to pull off.

In 2D animation we just move around stuff by simply draw them on different places on the paper. But this is how it's done in computer programs, by fancy coordinates! I don't love numbers. But computers is the future so this has to be a more intellegent way of drawing...

I translated cow legs into human arms and legs to understand the anotomy.

The basic pattern of a trot is the same for most four legged animals.
The red here indicates limbs on right side.

Doodles again

Oh I'm really struggling with a cow today. I don't love 3D-animation today. And cows have too many legs for me to handle. Three legs too many... one could be enough.

So no drawing except for some lousy cow sketches that I want to spare you from. Instead you get a little cute something from this summer.

Speed drawings

Two minutes for every picture. So called speed drawing, really good exercise.

Me some weeks ago

I post only one drawing today. I had a really bad day a couple of weeks ago and I made this one then. If it had a name it would be "Adam, you're thinking again..."

Time to get some blog routine

To get som blog routine I will try to get up at least one picture every day. It's just too much school stuff I havn't put up on my blog during this last half year, so I just leave that and focus on the present instead.

Week 15 After Effects

ENG
This week we learned things in the program After Effects. The first clip is only one picture of mountains and clouds. We cut out the clouds, copied them and made them travel in different speed on different laeyers. After that we added a rain animation on top of everything else and changed the colours just for fun.
The second clip is a montage from diferent pictures. The point was to make something (or someone) fly very fast across a landscape. Me and my classmate Caroline made this old lady fly over Paris.

SV

Week 14 Dance, Hippo Inferno

ENG
The hippo from Fantasia ( a bit thiner than the original tough) is dancing to Disco Inferno. Unfortunately I had panic this week and therefor I couldn't work efficiently. The panic issue got solved by the end of the week, but there's still missing a lot of frames in this animation.

SV

Week 10 Non Dialouge, Goofys date

Goofy is waiting for his date, and the task was to make him express that clearly.

Week 9 Non Dialogue, made in TV-Paint

We were supposed to animate one out of many characters, I chose Sheep dog Sam. The idéa was to make him find some money, wanting to take them, but then change his minde and leave. This was a fun exercise. A bit tough, took all weekend, but I still had some fun doing it.

I didn't get his walk right, he was supposed to walk with his legs close together. But in my animation I didn't think of that from the start, the way he walks is off character. And the legs works against the upper body in terms of bouncing.

But what suprised me in a good way were how nice the mustache settles.

Week 8 TV-Paint Intro

It's hard to deal with new programs and new tools. But at least I got some animation out of this first computer week. The wow factor hopfully will increase with time.

The first test was a Scooby head turn.

And now let me present "The Hogarth Take". The point was to animate Hogarth (from the film The Iron Giant) who gets suprised or something else that makes him jump. Unfortunately I didn't reach more than basic construction.

This last animation was a litle test, a Mr. Bouncing Bean!

week 5 Midway test

Pink Panther findes himself in a looked room, he gets angry and tries to open the door but doesn't succeed. The time limit were 120 frames (five seconds).

week 3 In betweening

This week were a bit harder then the last week. We learned to draw in betweens for another animator. In this case we got keys and breakdowns from a scene in balto with Boris the goose. A small step for Boris but a giant leap for me.

Here are a couple of my poses for Boris.

week2 Clean Up

Here is a cleand up scene from An American Tail 2 with the character Cat R. Waul. It´s just a second or so but it took us a four days to almost finish it. Clean up takes time to learn.

2010 week1 Characther Design

This week we designed advertisement charcters. The character is named Auntie Biotic and should explain why not to over use antibiotics. I made two different designs of her.

In the second design she has a space siut look, that is also an antibiotic cap.

Then we designed some characters from Roald Dahls story Taste.

Week 49 Drunken Walk

Goofy again, this time in another condition. A better condition. He is missing eyes and stuff this time as well, but he has a hat!

Week 46 Heavy lift

Some kind of Goofy construction lifts heavy ball. Heavy metal!

Week 41 Walks

This week (41) I produced a litle too tall and not so pink Pink Panther. But he does an angry walk.

Week 38-39 Basic Animation with Uri Kranot

This is my bouncing ball with character.

And the next week we did another classic exercise; The Flour Sack. We were given a story board and tried to make the sack act there after.

Week 37 Basic Animation with Uri Kranot

Here is my very first animated scene - Frog n' Fly. He doesn't really stay on model. Those vicious flies!

Sunday 31 January 2010

Week 35 Construction with Zdenko Santini

Here's a couple of drawings I made in the very first week at my lovely little Danish school.

From here on I declare my school blog alive

Welcome to my blog. Here I will post what I do at my school, The Animation Workshop. The first blog posts will be a catch up since the blog first got launched in the second semester.
